I’ve always been fascinated by color, the use of color to emphasize or de-emphasize, the psychology of color and how it affects the psyche, what personalities favor one color over others. Even as a child, I remember sitting in church looking up at the amazing colors that beamed from the giant cross on the front wall of the sanctuary. My affinity for colored glass parallels my love of color. Stained glass, fused glass, blown glass, it all captivates me.
So, when I learned that the master glass artist, Dale Chihuly, was to have an installation at the Dallas Arboretum, I knew I had to be there. And so I was. And I will go back. As many times as I can. The sculptures did not disappoint. I stayed for a lecture by the artist, met him, and got a signed book of his garden installations.

My fascination has compounded and I am even more mesmerized by these sculptures each time I look at them. I can hardly wait to go back at night to see them illuminated against a night sky.
The balls are definitely my favorite, but they are all absolutely mesmarizing! The color combination in this one is beautiful.
If you have a chance, you really must go see this exhibit. My words cannot begin to express the wonder and majesty of these pieces.
